Victor Edison Loyer passed away on November 17th, 2023 in Palmer, AK surrounded by his loving wife and children.
Born and raised in Palmer, Alaska, Vic was the proud owner-operator of Vic Loyer Construction for over 40 years. He worked on a variety of projects all over the State of Alaska throughout his decades in construction. Although his dirt work skills were impressive, most will always remember him for his impressive laugh. You always knew when Vic had arrived because you would hear his hearty chuckles. It isn't often you could catch him without a smirk on his face, a joke ready to share, or a belly laugh from his own amusement in the works. Vic was the grandson of a colonist family and truly loved the history of Palmer and all of the great people that surrounded him because of it. He enjoyed spending time at the farm, meeting new people, reconnecting with old friends and catching up over a cup of coffee. He spent years sponsoring and participating in basketball and softball leagues until he transitioned into a spectator at his children's sports, and then his grandchildren's. Vic and his wife, Cindy, celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary on March 10th of this year. The two of them enjoyed years of adventures that included fishing, camping, four-wheeling, gardening, traveling, spoiling their grandkids, and enjoying their lil buddies (cats) at home. Whether you knew him as Victor, Vic, Wic, V2, Pops or Bossman; he was a friend to all and will be deeply missed by many.
Victor was preceded in death by his father, Vic Loyer; mother, Carole Loyer, and sister, Joni Loyer-Muth. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Loyer; son, Victor Loyer; daughter and son-in-law, Jessica and Jack Burnett; grandchildren, Jaxon and Jordyn; brothers, Matt, Damon and Charlie; his uncle, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A potluck style celebration of life is planned for Sunday, December 17th, 2023 at 2 p.m., at the American Legion Post 15 in Palmer. In honor of Vic's memory, the family encourages those who knew him to donate to the Clear Creek Cat Rescue.
