Violet “Louise” Moore

Long time Alaskan resident, Violet “Louise” Moore, 79, passed away in Anchorage, AK on July 5, 2020. She was born August 20, 1940, in Donora, PA to Ralph & Violet Sickles. Louise married Guy Lee Moore in January of 1966 and was happily married 44 years, when he preceded her death in 2010.

Guy & Louise arrived in Alaska in 1982, looking for adventure with their three children and eventually made Wasilla their forever home. They loved the quiet life of Alaska birch trees and family. Their greatest times were with the kids, Louise playing board games (and winning) and Guy taking a walk in the woods with a little one in tow.

Louise is survived by her three children and their spouses: Robert and Susan Stump of Anchorage, AK, Linda and Dan Donoho of Wasilla, AK, and Barbara and Pat Merrigan of Houston, AK; Six Grandchildren: Lois Flippin, Jennifer Tollerud, Keller Merrigan, Trace Merrigan, James Stump and Walter LeDesma, as well as 7 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, George Sickles, of Belle Vernon, PA.

The interment of ashes for both Louise and Guy Moore will be at the Fort Richardson National Cemetery, Alaska, July 16, 2020.
