Virginia Ewing

Virginia Marie Ewing, 57, died Feb. 14, 2008, at her Wasilla home.

A service was held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 21, at Alaskan Heritage Memorial Chapel in Wasilla, with Pastor Dan Grisham officiating. Cremation followed the services.

Ewing was born Jan. 24, 1951 in Edinburg, Texas. She moved to Wasilla in 1970. She had been employed at Fluke’s Electronics, and also as a waitress.

She was preceded in death by daughter Christine Marie Ewing; brother Harold Stewart; father Noel Holt; and step-father Harold Steward.

Survivors are her husband, Wayne Ewing of Hudson, Colo.; daughters Alaree Ewing of Wasilla, and Gena Ewing of Tacoma, Wash.; sisters Ocie Hampton of Minnesota, Barbara Gift of Peters Creek, and Bonnie of Eagle River; brothers Charlie Steward of Talkeetna and Lloyd Steward of Big Lake; mother Virginia Steward of Anchorage; granddaughters Terri-Jo Ewing of Wasilla, Shauntena Ewing of Vallejo, Calif., Chauntel Ewing of Everett, Wash., and Miracle Ewing of Tacoma, Wash.; grandsons Darius Winkley of Raytown, Mo., Troy Mays of Big Lake, Quinten Hamilton of Anchorage, Xavier Ewing of Edmonds, Wash., and Dillon Spratt.
