Virginia Mae “Aunt Jenny” “Gigi” Cullers, 75, died Dec. 16, 2012, at the Wasilla home of her granddaughter, Wanda Haisley, after a two-year battle with cancer.

The family plans a celebration of life in the summer of 2013.

Virginia was born Dec. 10, 1937, in Alaska to Nic and Bedusa Nicoli. She was employed at Alaska Native Hospital. Virginia was a Christian Catholic and loved to road hunt, berry pick, fish, can fish and berries, take drives, read, knit, crochet and spend time with family and friends.

The family wrote, “She was a great knitter and did a great job smoking salmon. She was a loving person with everyone she knew.”

Surviving are daughters, Rosalie (Art) Johnson, Carolann (Kirby) Miller and Karen (Jeff) Ostby; grandchildren, Wanda (Dan) Draveling and son, Cassie Beard and family, Brandee Beard and family, Paula Theodore, Ginny Jacobson and family, Stephane Boin and family, Matthew Johnson and family, and Tina Haisley and son Dylan Nelson; nieces, Bonnie Nicoli and family, Brenda Nicoli and family, Gerald Nicoli Jr., and Geraldine Nicoli and family; sister, Donna and Ed Schweitzer and sons; brother, Billy Nicoli; Debbie Bissette and family and Karen Rousseau and family.

Preceding her in death were Happy Nicoli, Gerald Nicoli, Renee Nicoli, Ronald Schweitzer, Shelly Schweitzer, Christopher Schweitzer and Loralie Seeber.

The family gives special thanks to Fannie Mae for her help and support, along with Mat-Su Valley clinic staff.
