Walter Kenneth “Ken” Kellogg, 65, of Willow, passed away Oct. 21, 2014, in his home of natural causes.
Ken was born in Provo, Utah, on Nov. 19, 1948, to Walter and Edith Kellogg. He moved to Alaska in 1979 to raise his two children and find work doing what he loved: painting and artistry. He retired in 2000 after becoming disabled but continued with his art as much as possible. Ken appreciated art in all its forms and had a great love for animals, old Western movies and music.
He was a kind and generous man with enormous talent. Ken will be greatly missed by those of us who had the privilege to know and love him.
Preceding him in death was his daughter, Amelia D. Gerrard.
Surviving are his sons, Kenneth D. Kellogg and Dustin Kellogg; son-in-law, James Gerrard; grandchild, Andrew Straughn; caretakers, Angela Price and Jaquelin Noyes; and many loving friends and extended-family members.
A memorial service is at 2 p.m., Nov. 8 at Legacy Funeral Homes’ Wasilla Heritage Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, send memorial donations to PO Box 152 Willow, AK, 99688.
