Walter Leroy Davis, 82, passed away on September 9, 2015, in Pawnee, Oklahoma. The family will have a graveside memorial service at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 27, 2015, at Olivet Cemetery in Perkins, Oklahoma. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Walter was born March 16, 1933, to Edwin and Berniece Davis. He grew up in the country near Perkins, Oklahoma. He answered his country’s call and served two years in the United States Army in Munich, Germany. During his 82-year journey through life he also lived in Colorado and Alaska, where he met and made many friends and good memories along the way. He loved to dance, going to the lake camping, waterskiing and spending time with family and friends. We miss him dearly.
He leaves behind three sons, Rick, Chris, and Ed; daughter, Robyn Swihart; brother, Jim; sister, Lydia Kirkendall; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and numerous friends. Walter was preceded in death by his parents, and six brothers and sisters.
