Warren Bolam

Lifelong Alaska resident Warren E. Bolam, 70, passed away Oct. 16, 2007, at Elvies Assisted Living Home in Wasilla.

A service was held Wednesday at Valley Memorial Park on the Old Glenn Highway.

Bolam was born Nov. 1, 1936, in Anchorage to John and Mary Bolam.

Bolam worked as a heavy equipment operator for the City of Anchorage from 1962 until his retirement in 1989. Throughout the years, he gave donations annually to many children’s charities. His special interests were caring for his lilac and rose bushes and flower boxes.

Bolam rarely took things too seriously and was always there to cheer people up with his silly jokes. He enjoyed watching old westerns and sitting around a campfire with family and friends. He also enjoyed deep sea fishing from his boat. He loved telling stories of what life was like growing up in Alaska when he was young.

Bolam is survived by a sister, Janet of Anchorage; brother, Howard of Washington; daughters, Sandra Jette of Palmer and Linda Bolam of Wasilla; and seven grandchildren.

Arrangements were provided by Kehl’s Palmer Mortuary.
