Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Longtime Palmer resident, Wayne David Chalker, 76, passed away June 13, 2016, at Colony House Assisted Living Home in Wasilla, Alaska, with his wife of 55 years at his side.
A graveside service will be held at Palmer Pioneer Cemetery on June 23, 2016, at 6:30 p.m.
Mr. Chalker was born July 24, 1939, in Parsons, Kansas. He graduated from Parsons High School in Parsons, Kansas, and attended Parsons Junior College. He married Roseann Jobe on May 28, 1961. Together they had four children and six grandchildren.
He and his family moved to Alaska in June of 1976, where he worked for the Alaska Railroad running their print shop. He retired after 25 years of Service.
In his younger years he enjoyed camping, fishing, and singing. He was also well known for his sense of humor and jokes.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He is survived by his wife, Roseann Chalker; his four children, Jeanne Lentz, Adam Chalker, Roberta Pyrah, and Kelley Davis; and his 5 grandchildren, Zane and Delaney Davis, CJ, PJ and Harlee Pyrah.
His services have been entrusted to Legacy Wasilla Heritage Chapel.
