Wilda (Willie) Maxine Boggs passed peacefully at her home on March 13, 2025. Willie was born in Altman, Pennsylvania to John and Wilda Harris. Willie's father moved the family to Eska coal mine in 1947. This was a big move for the family and they soon came to love Alaska.
She graduated from Palmer High School in 1956 and attended Kinman business college in Spokane. Willie was an adventurous person who enjoyed traveling and moved away several times but Alaska always called her back. Throughout her life, she had many jobs around Palmer, including Matanuska Maid Creamery, Mat. Valley Bank, Mat Valley Credit Union, Koslosky's Dept Store and Valley Hotel.
After retirement she settled in Palmer and enjoyed her family and special hobby of crochet. She made many Afghans for family, friends and donations for newborns. She loved lively telephone visits with many people and was a wealth of information about the Harris/Hollis family.
Willie was the last of her siblings to pass. She was proceeded in death by her parents and her siblings Walter, Donald, Donna, Marilyn (Sis), and Betty. Her grandson Mathew Boggs passed in 2021 and her daughter Teresa Boggs Oliver in 2023. All are deeply missed by the family.
Willie is survived by her son Kevin Boggs, daughter in law Kim, granddaughters Taryn and Danica and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A celebration of her life is planned for Saturday May 3 at the Palmer Train Depot at 4 p.m. Friends of Willie and family friends are invited. Dinner will be served at 5 p.m. with eulogy at 6 p.m.
