AECM William Earl “Bill” Farling, 84, passed away at home on Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2020 from complications of a stroke a couple of weeks ago.
A memorial/viewing service will be held noon -4:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 4 at Legacy Funeral Home on Knik Goose Bay Road, 1015 S. Check St., Wasilla.
His career was the Coast Guard. He served 40-plus years aboard a ship. He was at Newfoundland, Canada; Elizabeth City, North Carolina numerous times; Keesler AFB in Mississippi; Barbers Point, Hawaii; and Kodiak, Alaska. He retired in Elizabeth City then moved to Wasilla, Alaska
He is survived by wife of 64 years, Ann Farling; son Earl Farling of North Carolina; daughter Terry Cahoon of North Carolina; daughter Sue Wanzak of Palmer; also grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by youngest child and son Dale Farling.
He will be cremated and then buried at JBER for family and a few friends because of COVID.
