Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

William Jacob Hines Jr., 68, formerly of Wasilla and Anchorage, and most recently of Corrales, N.M., died on May 14, 2011.
Hines was born Jan. 26, 1943 in El Paso, Texas, to William Jacob Hines Sr. and Leona (Dragoo) Hines.
His work included being a senior electrical estimator in the oil industry. He enjoyed fishing, the outdoors, woodworking and leatherworking.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joanie Hines; parents, Leona and William Jacob Hines Sr. and; sister, Barbara King.
Hines is survived by his daughter, Kati Buckland and her husband, Glenn, of Rio Rancho, N.M.; son, William Jacob Hines III and his wife, Gerri, of Wasilla; grandchildren, Caleigh, Mason, Noah and Liam; and friend and companion, Sue VandenBerg.
