December 22, 1951 - October 17, 2025 William O'rielly Perkins passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025. Born on December 22, 1951, William "Bill" was preceded in death by his parents, Etta Mae and Barney O’rielly Perkins, as well as his siblings. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 45 years, Margaret Jeanette Perkins; his children, Ray, Evan, Sarah, Lee, Preston, Elizabeth, and Nicholas; and his grandchildren, Maryonna, Kevin, Maxcime, Addison, Abby, Kaitlyn, Paxton, Julia, Harvey, Charlotte, Mollie, Joanna, Evelyn, Madelyn, and Declan. Bill graduated from Chugiak High School in 1970 and earned the school’s first-ever varsity football letter. In 1980, he married Jeanette and was sealed for eternity in the LDS Temple. Over the years, he worked in fish sales and furniture sales before retiring as a tugboat engineer with a captain’s license. A devoted fan of sports—especially football and hockey—Bill found great joy in sharing those passions with his family and grandchildren. He also had a fondness for good food and was rarely without a Coca-Cola or Twinkie nearby. In his final days, Bill reflected fondly on memories of his childhood pet duck Daffy and youthful adventures—including a few car mishaps. He shared heartfelt phone calls with sons who couldn’t be present and expressed deep love for his “cute wife,” “good-looking children,” and cherished grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on November 28, 2025, at Tailgaters in Wasilla at 7 p.m.
