Precious husband and treasured father, Tom, passed away suddenly on September 3,
2016, surrounded by those who loved and adored him.
Tom was born in Anchorage on June 6, 1965 to Ada and William Cameron. Raised in
Aleknagik and Anchorage. Tom developed an early love of Alaska- with a special love
for Bristol Bay, where he spent much of his youth, fishing and hunting. He often spoke
of home, and felt connected to the land of his youth.
Tom & Rhonda married on September 18, 2003, & they have five beautiful daughters.
The last twelve years Tom was a full time stay at home dad, creating treasured
memories with Roslyn. This was the career Tom most enjoyed!
Ask anyone who knew Tom will tell you he had two loves: his family, and
Alaska. Tom loved to spend time hunting the Deshka, though he was far luckier in
picking berries then taking a moose. Year after year, the family would return to gather
berries and hunt. Tom loved fishing! He could spend hours tying flies, & casting his
line. The love was for fishing, he was just as happy to catch & release to fill his
cooler. His joy was being outside- with those he loved, doing what he loved.
Tom had a big heart, and was the first to roll up his sleeves and help. He was a
trusted friend, and leaves behind countless memories of snow-machining, four wheeling,
building, working, cleaning, camping, and fun. He could be found sitting by the fire
with family and friends, listening to music with his best dog, Katy at his side.
Tom left this life just like he lived it- with the love that he and Rhonda built together,
solidly intact.
In death he gave hope to others as an organ donor.
Tom was preceded in death by his mother, father, Sister, and nephew.
Tom is survived by his wife, Rhonda, their daughters; Roslyn Cameron, Amanda Sinford, Ellie Embry, Danielle Crader, and Genevieve Rathbun; three treasured grandchildren; grandmother Pauline Harte; grandfather Raymond Concord; numerous siblings; nephews; and nieces. He also leaves behind two four legged loves, Katy and Doofus.
Services will be held Thursday, Sept. 22, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Valley Funeral Home.
In Lieu of Flowers, the family asks that donations be made to: Rhonda Cameron at Matanuska Valley Credit Union bank account # 15394CA.
