William (Bill) W. Holcomb left this world peacefully on July 23, 2017, to join his wife who passed July 25, 1983. A military graveside service will be held Sept. 1, 2017, at 1 p.m. at Valley Memorial Park on the Old Glenn highway near the Butte.
Dad came to Anchorage, Alaska, in 1948 while serving in the Air Force. There he met our mom Ann who was from the Bristol Bay Region. After his honorable discharge from the Air Force they moved back to Bristol Bay. He always said mom taught him how to be a commercial fisherman. Years later he made his family's home in the Matanuska Valley where he worked in the construction field to include working on the Trans-Alaska Pipeline during its inception as well as the gas pipeline. He has four children Bill, Margaret, Gwen and Ralph along with 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and five great, great grandchildren.
