Wilma Ann (Wood) Humphreys passed away on Dec. 28, 2017 at Mat-Su Regional Medical Center in Palmer, Alaska. Wilma was born in 1951 and raised in Washington, Pennsylvania to William and Mildred (Carey) Wood. After meeting the love of her life Tom, they married and moved to Alaska. With their two boys Chad and Adam, they had many adventures in hunting, fishing, and snow machining. The boys loved to trick their mom into riding with them and then taking her on a wild ride that she would never forget! She was part of a bowling league, and she and Tom played softball as well for many years. She discovered stained glass and cross stitch and made beautiful items that she shared with family and friends. Her cross stitch pictures are so fine they appear to be paintings when hung. She always made room for people in her house, her heart, and at her table. She called all the boys “her” boys. She loved “card night” and taught many a newbie the ins and outs of rummy.
Wilma was pre-deceased by her grandson Rye and her parents Wilbur and Midge Wood. She is survived by her husband Tom, her sons Chad (Lisa) and Adam (Shannon), and their boys Reed and Chance. She is also survived by her sisters Wilda (twin) and Joetta, and her brother Buddy as well as many other family and friends. There are no services planned at this time. Her ashes will be spread at a later time in a place she loved. Arrangements cared for by Janssen Mat-Su Funeral Home.
