Zane Scott Young

Zane Scott Young, 52, died May 5, 2010, peacefully at his residence in Sutton.

There will be a potluck celebration of life May 15 at noon until 5 p.m. The celebration will be at Rod and Cherie Varah’s house. All friends and family are invited. Rod and Cherie’s phone number is 745-2643.

Zane died at home surrounded by family and loved ones. Zane was born in Inglewood, Calif., and has been in Alaska since he was 6 months old.

Zane graduated from Palmer High School. He was a champion wrestler and runner. He ran the marathon in Fairbanks. He was a wonderful athlete. Zane was a wonderful loving husband and father. Zane worked in the oil field for 30 years. He loved the oil field very much and helped many people to break out in the field. He was a true friend to all and will be missed greatly and will be in our hearts forever.

Zane is survived by three children, Joshua Nile Young of Sutton, Edwin Lebron Jones and Christy Buchanan both of Anchorage. He is also survived by his brother, Aaron Young of Sutton; his sister, Teresa Szeremi of Palmer; and his mother Diana Young, who resides in Roseburg, Ore.

Zane is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Nile Young.

Zane was a true Alaskan and loved his state very much.
