Zhanna I. Tatarenko

Zhanna I. Tatarenko, 74, of Wasilla, died Dec. 22, 2010, at the Mat-Su Regional Medical Center of Palmer.

A native of the Ukraine, Mrs. Tatarenko immigrated to the United States in 1989 and moved to Alaska 12 years ago. In the Ukraine she worked as a coal miner and had most recently been a homemaker. She enjoyed embroidery and reading her Bible.

Survivors include three children, Olga of Oregon, Helena and Nikolai of Russia; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Sister Tatiana and brother Alexander, both of the Ukraine, survive her.

Funeral services are at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 28 at chapel of the Valley Funeral Home, 151 East Herning Avenue in Wasilla. Interment will follow in the Wasilla-Aurora Cemetery. Valley Funeral Home is in charge of
