Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute has added an amateur recipe contest to its Great Alaska Seafood Cook Off event from 6 to 9 p.m., May 14 at the Bill Sheffield Alaska Railroad Depot at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport.
The amateur recipe contest winner receives a prize package that includes a new iPad and will be crowned along with the new king or queen of Alaska seafood at the Great Alaska Seafood Cook Off.
The top 20 recipe writers also will be invited to the event. Recipes are due May 1 and can be entered at greatalaskaseafoodcookoff.com/recipecontest.
Applications for the professional division of the Great Alaska Seafood Cook Off are due April 1. The contest winner will represent the state of Alaska at the Great American Seafood Cook-Off in New Orleans, La.
