BIG LAKE — Big Lake Community Council awarded nearly $70,000 in grants generated from three years of funds from the Alaska Revenue Sharing program.
Administered by the council, the funds are intended for projects that will improve the quality of life for Big Lake residents. Community groups were invited to apply through the council’s website and recipients were announced at the June 12 community council meeting. Grant recipients are:
• Big Lake Lions Club, $25,000.
• Jordan Lake Park, $15,000.
• Big Lake Elementary/cross country ski equipment, $12,488.50.
• Big Lake Trails, $7,852.
• WildBird Rehabilitation Center security fencing, $5,000.
• Big Lake Community Clothing Closet, $3,623.
