Daniel Schultz, 62 died April 25 at Providence Hospital in Anchorage. Dan was born in to Emil Schultz and Florence Klossner in Rice Lake, Wis. He attended high school and lived in Birchwood until he joined the Air Force in 1965. While in the Air Force, Dan was stationed in Alaska where he instantly fell in love with the state. Once he left the Air Force, he knew Alaska was home and stayed.
In 1983 Dan married his wife Lori Bossell. A year later, they moved to Slana where they homesteaded for three years. Later Dan and Lori bought a motor home and traveled the county for several years. Finally, they settled in Wasilla where they enjoyed hunting and fishing. Dan was an avid Ice fisherman and loved all things outdoors. Dan enjoyed cooking his catch on the BBQ and spending the long Alaska summer evenings hanging out with his extended family and friends.
Dan spent most of his career commercial truck driving with various local companies.
Dan is survived by his wife Lori Schultz, stepson Ryan and his wife Christy Bossell, and brother James, wife Shirley Schultz and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family..
A Celebration of Life will be held for family and close friends at the Schultz home on Saturday at 2 p.m.; 5940 Camborne, Wasilla. In lieu of flowers, Lori requests a donation be made in Dan’s name to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
