David Michael Richie

72, passed away June 17, 2019 quietly at his home surrounded by the family that loved him and his friends after a battle with cancer.

A Celebration of life potluck will be held at 5pm Thursday July 25, 2019 at the Gazebo (Reagan Bldg.) 3161 E. Palmer Wasilla Hwy. Wasilla, Alaska

Dave was born August 27, 1946 to Michael and Rena (Fenoglio) Richie in Detroit Michigan. Dave was a flooring installer by trade, a vocation he loved. He married Susan Burrows (1966) and had two children, Steve and Michelle. After Sue passed (1991) he married Lisa Beitner (1994) and they had two children, Gabrielle and Trevor. Dave said he was lucky enough to have two women jump into his arms and he married them both!

David enjoyed bowling, was an avid pool player, hunter and fisherman. Dave’s love of hunting and fishing brought him and his wife to Alaska in 1994. Some of his greatest accomplishments were 197# halibut and shooting a moose with a 57” rack.

He loved teaching people from all over the world how to fish on the Kenai River and was known as the “man in the hat”. Dave loved life, he loved his family and was fun loving, full of life, always ready to lend a hand (Savior Dave), and he will be sorely missed!

Dave is survived by his wife Lisa, children Steve, Michelle West, Gabrielle, Trevor, a granddaughter, his sister Sandra Wing, her spouse, children and grandchildren, 8 sisters in law, their families and multiple nieces and nephews.
