Lifelong Alaskan resident, Jean Ann Jensen, 82, passed away August 21, 2021.
Jean Ann was born in Palmer, Alaska on August 1, 1939, to Jim and Claudia Wilson. She grew up farming the Fairview Loop area and working for her mother at Uncle Toms Café, (one of Palmer’s first restaurants).
Jean Ann married Raymond Jensen, January 25, 1959. Together they raised 5 children in the great Alaskan tradition. She worked as a waitress, dairy farmer and child care. She also worked for the Mat Su Borough School District and the Alaska State Fair.
Jean Ann enjoyed traveling, fishing, gambling, fishing, farming and yes, fishing.
She is survived by her children; Chris (Jeannie) Jensen, Marty (Lori) Jansen, Ricky (Kim) Jensen, Tanya Jensen (Brett Grube); 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond and son, Russell.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the American Legion Post #35 on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 3:00pm. A potluck will follow the service.
