Man killed when tractor rolls

SUTTON — An apparent heavy equipment accident on a remote property in Sutton claimed the life of a 68-year-old man Monday.

The accident was reported at 5:54 p.m. Indications on emergency band radio at the timed seemed to be that reaching the victim — Marvin Baker, 68, of Sutton — was a difficult task calling for all terrain vehicles.

Baker, “had been working on his property when he lost control of the tractor and it flipped off an embankment. Numerous EMS and Fire units arrived and responded to the scene, but were unable to resuscitate Baker prior to recovering his body from the hillside,” according to a trooper press statement.

Baker was declared dead and his remains handed over to the State Medical Examiner.
