Mark was a long time Alaskan, who departed this world too soon. Mark will be missed by his family and many friends. He abruptly passed away on Nov. 23 at the age of 61. He will long be remembered as a caring, kindhearted person who was always there to lift your spirits. Mark enjoyed his time in Alaska by hunting and fishing, and socializing with his many friends. He was an avid sportsman in that he played varsity basketball and football for Dimond High school and enjoyed softball for many years. Dimond High was where he met and married his high school sweetheart, Shirley. They spent many years together living in Anchorage.

Mark Crowl is survived by his loving family, wife, Kim Crowl, two daughters, Tisa Becker and Christy Peacock-Thompson, Grandson Colt Douglas Thompson, Brother Ralph and Edith Crowl, Nephew Brian Crowl, Father Harold Crowl and many cousins, aunts, and uncles in the Michigan area. Mark was born in Japan and moved to Alaska shortly after his birth when his father was stationed here in 1958. Mark graduated high Dimond High School in 1974, where he forged many lifelong friendships that are still here today. He started his career as an expediter for CR Lewis shortly thereafter he joined the Plumbers and Pipefitters UA Local 367. He was a 37-year member. His funeral will be held at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 8427 Jewel Lake Road, Anchorage, Alaska, on Saturday Dec. 2 at 12 p.m. with a memorial service to follow. After the service, cheers to Mark will be held at the Trophy Lounge, located at 8801 Jewel Lake Rd, Anchorage.
