Palmer Police arrest 2 in reported home invasion

PALMER — Two suspects were in custody following a home invasion robbery held at gunpoint Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.

Palmer Police Commander Lance Ketterling released a little information about the incident while the investigation is ongoing Wednesday afternoon.

He said the robbery occurred “on the east side of Palmer,” and that no one had been injured.

“What we had was a home invasion robbery,” he said. “It was reported to be at gunpoint. We have two individuals in custody on robbery, theft, and drug charges.

Alaska State Troopers also responded, Ketterling said. An off-duty law enforcement officer apparently spotted the vehicle somewhere in the neighborhood of the Palmer Pool.

A woman who answered the phone there said the pool was never on lockdown Wednesday evening, but that an incident of some kind involving police had taken place in the parking lot.

Rumors around the Valley Wednesday said the Palmer Fred Meyer was robbed at gunpoint. Palmer Police say that’s not true.

This is a developing story. More information will be reported as the story develops.
