Wallace (Wally) Clay Morris died July 12, 2021, at the age of 71 in Emmett, Idaho. He made the decision to go home after fighting his battle with a Wallenberg’s Syndrome Stroke he had back in 2015.

Born August 25, 1949, in Anchorage, Territory of Alaska, he moved with his family to the Butte area of Palmer in 1961.

Wally graduated from Palmer High School in 1967 and immediately joined the United States Navy where he served his time mostly on a submarine. He said he won a lot of cribbage tournaments as they would stay under water for 6 months at a time. After the Navy he graduated college in Eugene, Oregon, lived in Portland and became one of the early computer programmers for Nike.

He is survived by his sister, Carole Milstead Morris of Star, Idaho; his brother, Wes Hamrick, and wife, Elwanda, of P.O.Box 774, Show Low, Arizona; and many nieces and nephews all around the USA.

He was preceded in death by his father, Maynard Morris; his mother, Germaine (Gerrie) Hamrick; stepfather, Garner Hamrick; and sister, Kathy Hamrick.

Wally loved the Red Sox, the Trail Blazers, and fishing, fishing especially in Valdez, and has asked that his ashes be spread in the bay there.

A headstone will be placed on his mother’s gravesite at Angulus Memorial Park in Anchorage. Charitable donations can be offered to St. Jude’s in his name.

The picture of Wally was at Wes’ house on Big Lake.
